Have I mentioned how much I love wikipedia.org?

Well, someone else does too, and they devised a nifty little app that I just plugged into Community Server. Lets me generate pop-up blurbs from wikipedia entries. Let's try an example to make sure its working, what do you say? [WIKIPEDIA:Nuclear power...
the meaning of tragedy
Published 02-25-2006 12:35 PM | Mark
One thing that bothers me about the media is its overuse of the word tragedy. The word was coined to describe a type of ancient greek drama, in which the protagonist, due to some fatal flaw, brings down ruin upon himself and possibly those around him...

The rating system explained in full
Published 02-24-2006 10:23 PM | Mark
My 0-4 star ranking system is a bit unusual and requires explanation. It is adopted from the system used by the late Ernest Halliwell in his Filmgoer's Companion. My purpose is to correct the deficiencies of conventional ranking systems. In conventional...

Published 02-20-2006 11:14 PM | Mark
And I have finally got it working! Took me longer to upgrade than expected because of some wierd and utterly inexplicable permissions issues. And it's now late enough that I have no time to get my custom skin converted over. But it will come, soon. In...

Review of The Island - 0 stars
Published 02-06-2006 9:23 PM | Mark
The Island is a Michael Bay film. If you are familiar with Bay's other work - Bad Boys, Pearl Harbor, Armageddon, to name his 'seminal' pieces - then you have a good idea of what to expect. Expensive things like cars and helicopters will explode in ways...

I used to like Billy Zane
Published 02-02-2006 5:32 PM | Mark
even though he's rarely been in a good movie. I may even have something of a Billy Zane fetish, as I always seem to wrongly identify actors as him. The last time this happened was during season 4 of 24, where I could have sworn the head evil guy, Marwan...
State of the Union
Published 02-02-2006 10:45 AM | Mark
I didn't watch the State of the Union address, but I read a transcript. For the most part is was what you would expect, but when Bush got to energy policy, he made some very disturbing comments. I was going to comment extensively on this, but then I saw...
